Ok I had to get my hands on this one. The question is did “Halo Reach Legendary Edition” meet my expectations? Well if size matters then it most certainly did. The box for Halo Reach Legendary Edition is so big that 2 Xbox consoles almost fit in there without unpacking them first.

Now all pictures I have seen so far has been promotional pictures. And they where so good one would imagine this game came in a steel box in fact it’s not. Now I didn’t believe it would be anyway so I’m not disappointed there.

My first impressions when opening the box and looking inside was that it looked quite good. It actually exceeded my expectations. Removing the top contents reveals the Halo logo cut out in the polystyrene isolation. Very nice touch.

The game and Dr. Halsey’s diary comes in a little container with some nice finish to it such as a little handle to pull out the contents. Dr. Halsey’s diary is wrapped in black bubble plastic with a very nice detailed and quite huge “Warning Do Not Open Unless You A The Right Person Etc”. The diary itself is made of very nice material and simply filled with goodies and stuff from the Halo universe. Consuming this material will take some time but will probably be both entertaining and educational for those interested in the Halo universe.

Right moving on The Halo diorama is sculpted by McFarlane toys and apparently painted by hand. McFarlane actually made an effort here to make it look very good I must say. The details are simply extraordinary I’ve added some close up pictures of the diorama.

The diorama as quite big as a matter of fact and it’s consuming most of the space in the Halo Legendary Edition Box. Some assembly is acquired with the diorama as the Guns are packed separately. This is most likely done intentionally as they otherwise would break during packaging.

So was it worth it? Yes it was.

Now I just need to make space in the cellar for yet another empty collectors edition box.

If you read my post on the Xbox 360 limited “Halo” branded edition. None of you will be surprised that I had to get the "Halo Reach Legendary Edition" as well.

Now for me Halo is a bit or a paradox. I mean I really like the Halo universe the games, the novels, the franchisee and even the merchandise.

But to be honest I’m very bad at playing the actual game. I mean I can’t hit a tank 3 feet away with a spartan laser even if my real life depended on it and the tank doesn’t move. So when it comes to shooting other players well hmm.

Ok in order to defend myself on the above statement. unlike many others playing Halo I actually have other things to do in my life. I’m married have 2 kids a job and a garden.

Never the less I find the whole thing very well done. And the whole concept and storyline very much appeals to me. So of cause I had to get this one. I’ll do a review once I get my camera ready and make some room for the box.

So my “Halo Reach” Xbox wireless headset arrived today. What can I say it’s a wireless headset. Was I impressed? No not really actually a bit disappointed.

I mean the “Halo Reach” branding was nice and all that, but considering how much money you have to spend on it then it’s not really value for money.

A standard xbox wireless headset is about $49.99 and comes with an AC adapter so you can recharge without using USB. The Halo Reach Edition is also $49.99 but without adapter. You are forced to recharge it using a USB port from either your Xbox or a Computer.

Considering how much I actually use a headset in the first place then it’s simply too expensive. But then again as much as I like Halo I had to have this one regardless.
